Week 11: Data backup Techiques

 Back-Up Techniques

Data backup is necessary for an organization to protect its data and keep it available in case of any incident, such as a natural disaster or cyberattack. The backup allows the data to recover from backup locations to keep the organization running. There are different types of backups that an organization can do for the backup, like full backup, incremental backup, and differential backup.

Full backup - backs up all the data from the organization's files. This is the standard backup that most companies use.

·       Incremental backup – this backup will only backup files that have been changed since the last full or incremental backup. The achieve bit is on in this backup of the changed files. This option doesn’t take lots of storage, but the recovery process takes longer.

·       Differential backup – it backs up all the files that have been changed since the last full backup. The achieve bit not only means it will know the changes in the computer, but when it backs up, it backs up everything since the last full backup. This option does take lots of storage, but the recovery is quick.
