Week 5: The KVM Switches Explained

Something that interested me this week was a device called KVM switches. I have never come across this device, and it seems intriguing.  I wanted to look further into what KVM switches are.

The KVM (Keyboard, video, and Mouse) switch is a hardware device that lets you control multiple computers or laptops with the same keyboard and mouse and switch video from different systems. Let me explain; for example, you have two computers, one for work and one for home, and you want to use them by switching from time to time; this requires you to unplug the mouse, monitor, and mouse cable to a different system. It’s a hassle.  The KVM switches make this simple with a click of a button, and you can switch seamlessly between two systems and use the mouse and keyboard simultaneously

For someone who has two systems and wants to switch between two systems, this device is a game changer. I will be investing in this device to boost my productivity.
